9 Months Old!

Adilynne turned 9 months old today!  The time has flown by and she has grown and learned so much.  We love sitting and watching her. She has brought so much joy into our lives and we can't imagine life without her.
She is such a happy girl!  She has started to love playing with this teddy bear and snuggling with it.  Uncle Riley gave it to her for Christmas.
She figured out how to stand up during the past week.  She loves to stand up and see what is on top of things.

Oooo!  This is what she does when she gets excited about something.

Big smile!  She still has no teeth and I don't even feel any of them getting close.
She is always sucking on her upper or lower lip.

I put her hair into a pony tail for the first time the other day.  She didn't even seem to know that it was there.
This was how we found her on Friday after her afternoon nap.  We lowered her mattress last night because we were worried about her standing on the bumper pads and falling out.

Other things about Adilynne at 9 months...
  • She weighs about 18 pounds and is 27 inches long.
  • She has been off and on about crawling on her hands and knees but yesterday and today she has been doing it a lot more.  By next weekend that will probably be her mode of travel.
  • I fed her a meat puree (Turkey, rice, and veggies) for the first time tonight.  She seemed to like it.  She gobbled it up fast.
  • This afternoon she said da-da-da!  David was pretty excited.
  • She loves to take things out of baskets or containers.  In her bedroom I have a basket filled with her small toys and she loves to grab each one and throw it out.  She doesn't want to play with any of the toys, just empty the basket.

Scrapbooking

I've been doing some scrapbooking this week while Adilynne is napping.  Here is what I have created...

8 Months Later...

8 months after Adilynne was born and we had her newborn pictures taken I finally had time to go through all of them and pick a few to use.  I'm so excited that it is done and I love the way it turned out.
The 'DREAM' board in the center is something that I got when I was in Young Women's.  I forgot that I had it until I was going through my cedar chest a few weeks ago.  For the pictures, I was going to use frames but I ended up finding 8x10 canvas (plural?) on sale at Ben Franklin for $3 each.  It was way cheaper than frames and super easy to make my own canvas pictures.
TA-DA!!!

Easter

We had a great Easter yesterday.
Adilynne got excited when we came down stairs yesterday morning and she saw a basket full of new things to look at.
Yesterday morning at church a family in our ward invited us over for Easter dinner with them.  We didn't have anything planned so we took them up on their offer.  It was delish!  We had salmon, rice, fruit salad and asparagus.  A lot more fancy than what I was planning on making.  Their families live in Utah and Idaho and they are getting ready to put their house up for sale to move back to Idaho.  We were kind of jealous.  It was fun to spend the holiday with another family and get to know them better.

In other news...
  • The weather has been GORGEOUS up here for the past week.  It has been sunny and between 70-75 degrees all week.  I'm loving being back in capris and flip flops!  Unfortunately later this week it is going to cool off and rain again.  Bummer since we have company coming.
  • David's parents are coming up Wednesday and staying through the weekend.  We are super excited to see some familiar faces and catch up.
  • Adilynne has figured out how to sit up on her own.  It is the cutest thing ever!  She lays on her belly, pushes up to her knees then plops down on her bum and swings her legs out in front of her.  She thinks it is pretty neat that she can do it all by herself.
