36 Weeks and More Baby Showers

36 WEEKS!  I can't believe the end is so close.  In less than a month we will be holding our little girl.  The pregnancy has gone really fast and I've been lucky and haven't had any complications or too much sickness.  I hope all my pregnancies are as easy as this one has been.
I had my 36 week check-up on Wednesday and everything looks good.  My midwife was really surprised at how thinned out I already am and I'm starting to dilate.  She told me, "I don't think you'll have her this weekend but I'm going to be out of town if anything starts."  Great, just because she told me that the baby will decide to come this weekend.  She thinks I will probably still have at least two weeks but who really knows?  We'll just have to wait and see.
Last Friday night I had a baby shower in my ward.  The ladies who did it for me did dinner and games instead of the usual open house type showers.  It was really fun to play the games and visit with everyone for the whole shower.  Everyone who came was really generous and I received lots of great gifts.
This past Wednesday the girls from my dental hygiene class had a baby shower for me.  It was fun to visit with all of them again and hear what is going on in their lives.  I forgot to take a picture of everything I received from them before I put it all away but I got a lot of cute outfits, blankets and books.
I have been busy finishing up everything in the nursery.  Everything is ready except for a few more things I want to hang on the walls.  I love walking by the room and seeing how cute it is.  When I finish everything up, hopefully in the next week, I will post pictures of it.

34 1/2 Weeks and Baby Shower #1

Just a little over 5 more weeks to go!  We are getting so close to seeing our baby girl.  At my doctor appointment this week my doctor told me she wouldn't be surprised if I have the baby early!  We'll see if she is right.  I just hope that I don't go over my due date now that she told me I probably will have her early.  I'm hoping to make it to 38 weeks at least.  At my appointment my doctor did an ultrasound to check my fluid levels and everything looked good for 34 weeks.  She said the baby weighs about 5 pounds!  It's amazing that she has grown from something so tiny and now she is 5 pounds.

Wednesday night I had my first baby shower.  Some of my mom's neighbors put it all together for me.  It was fun to see people from the ward that David and I grew up in.  I received a lot of fun things.  I can't wait to start playing dress up with our new baby.

We are getting really close to having everything ready for baby's arrival.  We bought the carseat and stroller last week.  The nursery is just about finished.  At my baby shower my mom gave me the crib bedding set that I wanted.  It is fun to walk past the nursery and see the crib with the bedding.  I'm hoping this week to get the window valances hung up and then the nursery will be pretty much complete.  I can't believe we are getting so close to my due date!

30 Weeks 5 Days

I have made it to the 30 week mark!  I can't believe we have just over 9 weeks until our little addition is due.  We are getting really excited to become parents.  My love for the little baby inside of me grows each day.  We can't wait to meet her!  We wonder about who's eyes, nose, mouth, and ears she will have.  Will she have straight or curly hair and what color?  Our families have a little bit of every hair color and texture so we aren't sure what to expect.  I'm sure she will be adorable no matter who's facial features and hair she has.
I finally look like I really am pregnant.  I'm starting to get uncomfortable and I have to change positions a lot.  It seems like she almost always has her feet in my right front rib or she is pushing on something that pushes against the back of my lower right ribs.  It really doesn't feel very good.
The past few weeks we have been working on getting the nursery ready.  It has been a big project.  That was the only room that was not refinished before we bought the house.  The whole room (ceiling, closet, trim, walls) were all painted an ugly peach/pink color with ugly old blinds.  We have finished painting the ceiling white and the walls a light cream color.  It is so relaxing to go into that room now.  We should have painted it a long time ago.  We just have to finish painting the trim white this week and do some areas of touch-up.  I will be so glad when this paint project is over!  The next big thing to do in the nursery is change one of the windows that wasn't replaced when the rest in the house were.  I'm so excited to get the crib and dresser moved into the room and start decorating.

26 Weeks

Here are some pictures of me 26 weeks pregnant.  I'm feeling great and getting really excited about having a baby.  Now that I'm graduated from school I will have time to get the nursery painted and put together.  Last night we went and looked at a crib and dresser/changing table that one of David's co-workers is selling.  I really liked it and I'm excited to get it all set up and ready in the nursery.  I can't believe that on Wednesday I will only have 3 months left!

I'm still pretty small for being 26 weeks pregnant!

Graduation!

On Friday April 20, 2012 I graduated from Weber State University's Dental Hygiene Program. I can't believe the two years of the program are over. It all went so fast. I had great professors who prepared me to work in a dental office as a dental hygienist. Now I just get to find a job! Here are some pictures of the big day.

23 Weeks

I am 23 weeks pregnant!  Only 17 more weeks to go.
According to my pregnacy book the baby is about 8 inches long and weighs just over one pound.  During the next few weeks the baby will almost double her weight as she starts to gain fat.  I have started to gain some weight and am having a little bit of a hard time with it.  I know that its healthy and needs to happen for the baby but its just hard to have it happen.  Yesterday I realized that I'm not going to be able to see my feet for too much longer.  I took a picture to remember what they look like.  :)
When I look at myself in a mirror I think my stomach looks huge but when David takes a picture of me and I look at it I look so small still.  David even teases me sometimes that it doesn't even look like I'm pregnant.  I guess its a compliment to be 5 1/2 months pregnant and barely be showing.

Random Things to Remember:
  • The other night I had a dream that I was eating Snickerdoodle cookies and they were warm, and soft and so yummy.  I woke up wanting Snickerdoodle cookies so I made them that day!  I guess that was one of my first cravings.
  • She is pretty active and I feel her kick and punch and move a lot throughout the day and evening.
  • I can feel her move higher up on my abdomen now than when I first felt her move.  She's a growing girl.
  • She really gets active after I eat and after I sneeze.
  • David finally felt her move when I was 22 weeks pregnant, 4 weeks after I felt her for the first time.  Its fun to see him get excited when he feels her.
  • Saturday night I decided to see if I could see her move from the outside yet.  I could feel that she was getting stronger so I sat on the couch for a few minutes and sure enough, when I felt her move I could also see my abdomen move.  David saw it too and thought it was pretty funny.
  • My next baby appointment is Wednesday morning.  I can't wait to see her again in the ultrasound.  I hope she isn't facing backwards and upside down again like last time so we can get a good picture of her face.

A Baby Girl!

WE ARE HAVING A BABY GIRL!
We are so excited to add a cute baby girl to our family.
Here is the ultrasound that shows that she is a girl.  I'm not exactly sure what parts are what in this picture but the ultrasound tech told us a few times during my appointment that she is not afraid to show that she is a girl.
This is one of my favorite ultrasound pictures!  Look at those cute little feet!!!
The hand!
Ultrasound of her profile.  You can see her spine, neck and head.  Look how cute!
Here is a picture of her face.  She is laying with her head down on my bladder and looking towards my back so we weren't able to get a good picture of her face.  Hopefully she will change positions by my next appointment in a month so we can see her face better.
Another picture of her face.
    5 1/2 months pregnant.  19 Weeks.

Random things that I want to remember about this pregnancy so far...
  • I felt her move for the first time about a week ago (18 weeks).  She is very active!  Whenever I sit down to study or work on something quietly she starts kicking and punching.  It's fun to feel her move inside of me.  Definitely not a feeling I could ever describe to anyone.  It is just a neat experience.
  • I've gained 4 pounds during the whole pregnancy so far.  I'm sure the pounds will start coming in the upcoming weeks.
  • I had my blood work done two weeks ago and when my midwife got the results her office called that day.  My Vitamin D levels were really low so I have to take a daily Vitamin D supplement.  Other than that all my blood work results were good.
  • Since the baby is laying right on my bladder I have to go to the bathroom about every hour.  Luckily at night I only have to get up once.
  • The nauseous feeling is gone!  If I let myself get really hungry I do start to feel a little nauseous but thats about the only time.  I just keep snacks with me all the time now.
  • I'm not as tired as I was at the beginning.  I can make it through the day now without a nap but I do sleep for 9-10 hours each night.
